Lord Macaulay’s Penal Code, later, renamed as Indian Penal Code, has withstood the test of time despite the inclusion of new offences like terrorism, hijacking, dowry death, cruelty to women, and changes in Rape, unnatural offences, adultery, etc. The Code is pragmatic, catering to the changing needs of people.

The present edition of Criminal Law of UJLS is thoroughly revised and rewritten, incorporating all amendments and important recent case laws. A separate table containing important sections, offences and punishments, is very useful for easy reference and remembrance of IPC provisions.

Sincere attempts have been made to write the book in simple English so that the masterly worded sections of the most celebrated classical work can be easily understood.
